Exhibits and Mounted Collections

** This exhibit presents a history of stamp dealers and collectors in the United States from 1859 thru 1899, a 40-year span from the infancy of stamp collecting thru its first golden age.

* The Raymond Vogel Collection of 1c 1851-57 Issues is one of the finest of its kind ever formed. It has won numerous awards.
* Last exhibited at Anphilex in New York in 1996, as an Invited Exhibit.

The Columbian Exposition Issue of 1893 is one of the most endearing and popular issues today. Collecting every denominations from the 1c thru $5.00, has been the goal of every young collector.

This collection, never competitively exhibited, contains a phenomenal array of unused and used singles and multiples and covers. Among the many highlights are plate blocks of all the dollar values, predated covers for all three denominations known used in 1892, the famous set of Burger covers used on January 1, 1893, some January 2 First Days, and uses to a wide range of destinations.

* An award-winning and informative exhibit of the famous 24-cent Jenny bi-plane issue, including an Inverted Jenny, Grounded Plane, Fast Plane and other varieties. The exhibit chronicles the printing history of this fascinating and popular issue.

** The Scarsdale Collection is one of the most complete holdings of U.S. Beer stamps ever formed. It was mounted on home made pages, but never exhibited. It will be offered in February 2012.

* This collection has never been exhibited. It was sold by Siegel in June 2010, as part of Sale 991

* The exhibit was first shown in 2003 where it won the Grand Award in St. Louis.
* The exhibit then received a Gold (92 points) as a five frame exhibit in Espana 2004.
* The exhibit qualified for eight frames at the Washington D.C. World Philatelic Exhibition in 2006, where it received a Large Gold (98 points) with Special Prize and Felicitations of the Jury, and was runner-up for the Grand Prix National, which was won by William Gross.
* The collection was sold by Siegel on May 27, 2010.
